Bolani, 6th April (Independent correspondence) – A significant step towards environmental and water conservation was taken on Monday with the inauguration of an Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) at the Bolani mines Hospital, aims to treat hospital wastewater and contribute to better waste management practices in the region.
The ETP, which boasts a capacity of 10 kiloliters per day, was constructed at an executed cost of ₹22 lakh. This advanced system will treat biological wastewater from the hospital, making the water suitable for reuse , thereby reducing pollution and conserving valuable water resources. The project is in line with the directives of the State Pollution Control Board, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
The inauguration ceremony was marked by a traditional manner , led by the Chief General Manager(Mines) Malla shrinivasu who highlighted the importance of this initiative for both the local community and the environment.AGM (Civil/In-charge CSR) Sanjeev Kumar, who oversaw the project, also played a key role in organizing this program under his guidance. In his address, Mr. Srinivasu emphasized the mine’s commitment to sustainability, stating that the project would not only improve environmental conditions but also pave the way for future initiatives that balance industrial growth with ecological responsibility. The event was attended by hospital staff, mine employees, local residents, and representatives from various labor unions, all of whom showed great enthusiasm for the project.
With this new ETP, Bolani Mines Hospital sets a remarkable example in the region for integrating eco-friendly practices within industrial operations. The initiative aims to minimize water contamination and ensure that the area’s environmental footprint is significantly reduced.
